Group therapy is indicated for various psychological problems and complaints. Within this form of therapy you will learn more about yourself through interaction with the fellow group members. You will learn more about how to deal with situations that arise in daily life. From feedback and contact with the other group members you will discover a pattern in yourself and in your relationships with other people during the therapy.

In the first place you will understand your problems and complaints better, but also experience how these can be connected to your relationship pattern. In addition, group therapy offers you the chance to try out other ways of relating and take them into daily life.

For example, it may be that someone experiences a lot of difficulties with their boss. For example, you always feel that you are not told what you actually want to say and because of this you feel that you are doing too much. Or could it be that your partner finds you too closed, so that a break-up is imminent. Or you have difficulty speaking to other people and you feel that you are not counting.

Throughout the therapy, each group member is given the opportunity to examine his complaints, to understand the relationship with a relational pattern and to try out other ways of contact. For example, the group member who experiences difficulties in relation to his boss may also recognize this way of dealing with others in other relationships. He or she discovers how unhappy he or she becomes of such a way of contact with others. He or she can then wonder together with the other group members why he or she relates to others in this way.

Group members find support and recognition together and as the group becomes closer, the healing effect of the group becomes stronger. As a result, the group grows into a safe place where you can experiment with other ways of thinking and being in relationships, which you can also take into your daily life.

In these groups we talk to each other about things that are important in your life right now. For example, you do not succeed in building or maintaining stable relationships, you regularly get into conflicts or you just get out of the way, the quality of your relations leaves something to be desired, you feel little connected with others or dependent. Such difficulties often cause discomfort and a negative view of yourself, your environment or life in general.

In group therapy we look for what you need to change. We focus both on the personal experience of each person’s life history and on the interaction patterns that arise in the group. The safe therapeutic framework offers the opportunity to find your way to more authenticity in contact, in which the essential can be expressed. In this way you allow yourself the opportunity for personal growth and the development of more satisfying and fulfilling relationships in your life, both on a private and professional level, …
